DIY cannabis-infused bath salts!


I've always loved cannabis-infused bath products. I've also been a bath fan for years. There is just something about soaking in a bath that's satisfying, relaxing, and soothing.

The skin is our largest organ. Our bodies come equipped with an endocannabinoid system. This system has a ton of receptors throughout our body. When one area is lacking in endocannabinoids, the cannabis knows where to go to help replenish and balance your system.

Our skin is full of these receptors and when cannabis is applied or used topically in a bath, the cannabis is absorbed faster and is able to reach those localized cannabinoid receptors.


What if I told you can make your own cannabis bath soaks at home?


Extremely easily at that!


I was skeptical but I tested this out last evening and was pleasantly surprised.



First, we need some supplies!

  • Cannabis-infused coconut oil

  • Epsom salts

  • essential oils ( my preferences are, lavender, ylang-ylang, sweet orange, patchouli, & rose) Feel free to use whatever scent you prefer.

  • baking soda ( optional)

  • glass jars for storage



How to make the salts!


If you don't have oil made, here's an easy way to make it

If your oil is solid, gently heat it up to melt it down. Once that is done, get yourself a small bowl, a 1/2 Tablespoon, and a spoon to mix.


Instructions.


  1. Add half a cup of bath salts to your bowl

  2. add 1/2- 1 tbsp of infused oil to your salts.

  3. add 20 drops of essential oil or more (depending on how strong you want it to smell.)

  4. I add a sprinkle of baking soda to help the oils stick better (optional)

  5. mix, mix, mix , and mix some more!

  6. Transfer to a glass jar, let sit for an hour before using!



Do you know the benefits of taking baths?

  • Baths can help ease sore muscles and relieve joint pain. If you have inflammation caused by chronic illness and pain, baths help loosen the sore muscles and joints. 

  • Baths improve blood flow, thus reducing blood pressure. 

  • Baths can boost your mood! There is just something about sinking into a warm bath and with the pleasure of an added cannabis bath product you made!

  • Baths can help prepare you for bedtime by relaxing your body and mind. 

When we add cannabis to our bath routine, we reap the extra benefits plus all the joy of a normal relaxing bath.
